Museo Histórico Cabildo de Pilar. La fundación de la Villa del Pilar ha sido objeto de cierta controversia, pero según los documentos originales encontrados en el Archivo Nacional de Asunción, el fundador de la villa fue Don Pedro Melo de Portugal y Villena en 1779. El Capellán Marcial Antonio Uliambre fue quien otorgó el nombre de "Pilar" a la nueva villa en honor a la devoción religiosa de la comunidad.
